  <treatment>Box jellyfish stings should be doused with vinegar, which inhibits and unactivated nematocysts. Rescue breathing and CPR may be required. For less serious stings, treatment with ice packs and antihistamines is an effective method of pain relief. A box jellyfish antivenom does exist, but it must be administered quickly.
